Spectators: 7944 (Terracing: 5959, Seating: 1827, VIP seats: 158) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Johannes Klooster started the match with the kick off. When Dirk Oosterbaan came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Wings on Ice fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dirk Oosterbaan couldn't finish the play. Douwe Krommert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Wings on Ice's Nigel Schepers got a free kick in the 9th minute. Johannes Klooster's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edward Nijsse read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. After 22 minutes, Niek Haan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gapinge SC and the Wings on Ice players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 28 played minutes Gapinge SC got a freekick which was hit by Niek Haan. Jacco Popken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teo Deijnen in the 34th minute of the match. Gapinge SC's Niek Haan got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Teo Deijnen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Wings on Ice players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gapinge SC were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Niek Haan made the kick off in the second half. Teo Deijnen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Jacco Popken made a huge save. Teo Deijnen scored 0-2 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacco Popken, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 63 minutes into the game, Gapinge SC's Gregor Huisman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacco Popken made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 68 minutes into the match, Wings on Ice's goal looked a bit too open when Niek Haan came free, but Jacco Popken reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th match minute, Gapinge SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregor Huisman to maneuver through the defense. Wings on Ice's Jacco Popken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teo Deijnen in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute Gapinge SC were awarded a corner. Teo Deijnen went to the cornerflag to take it. Wings on Ice's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Niek Haan 85 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. In the 93rd minute, Cor Klaassen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 96 minutes, Niek Haan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gapinge SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niek Haan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
