Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Maarten Zijlstra started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Emil van Wonderen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Iepstra having to interfere. When Jacob Eylens came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Sellingen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob Eylens couldn't finish the play. Erik Iepstra stood somewhat misplaced when Emil van Wonderen came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 9 minute. In the 12th minute, Matthijs Breinburg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erik Iepstra came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Sellingen's Gert Schoonderwoerd. But to his dismay, Gert Schoonderwoerd quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 19 minutes into the match, Tonnie de Graaf notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Sellingen's Andy Franssen. Andy Franssen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Andy Franssen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heiko Klaasens in the 26th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Sellingen's goal looked a bit too open when Maarten Zijlstra came free, but Andy Franssen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorn Kip in the 29th minute of play forced Gorpeind's goalkeeper Erik Iepstra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Jan Clarijs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gert Schoonderwoerd could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Erik Iepstra made a huge save. 41 minutes into the match, Gorpeind's goalkeeper Erik Iepstra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorn Kip. In the 42nd minute of the match, Emil van Wonderen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Erik Iepstra was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 44th minute, Jorn Kip got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sellingen's Andy Franssen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heiko Klaasens in the 46th minute of play.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emil van Wonderen to make the kick off. If Emil van Wonderen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Erik Iepstra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacob Eylens in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert Schoonderwoerd in the 55th minute of play forced Gorpeind's goalkeeper Erik Iepstra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorn Kip hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute of the match Raymond Onderwater sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Andy Franssen skillfully saved the ball. Taco Walstra's late challenge caught a Sellingen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Taco Walstra helped the player get up and apologised. Taco Walstra kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Erik Iepstra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emil van Wonderen, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Andy Franssen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maarten Zijlstra in the 67th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Sellingen's goal looked a bit too open when Maarten Zijlstra came free, but Andy Franssen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 79 minutes into the game, Matthijs Breinburg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gorpeind's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sellingen the free kick. Heiko Klaasens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Andy Franssen made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Sellingen's Emil van Wonderen got a free kick in the 95th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Maarten Zijlstra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gorpeind's supporters rose to their feet, but Maarten Zijlstra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andy Franssen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Gorpeind supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gorpeind would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
