Gertjan Krol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 17 minutes, Gertjan Krol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Raamberg Excelsior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gertjan Krol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Philip Oortwijn during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 18 played minutes KING got a freekick which was hit by Philip Oortwijn. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heinz-Dieter Baxter in the 25th minute of play forced KING's goalkeeper Lucien Kiewit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Alwin Rijaard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lucien Kiewit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mario Ranzijn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Heinz-Dieter Baxter took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lucien Kiewit. Lucien Kiewit dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of KING booed when Raamberg Excelsior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heinz-Dieter Baxter didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Raamberg Excelsior were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Folkert Beishuizen was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute Folkert Beishuizen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rajmund Sáfár saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raamberg Excelsior's Gertjan Krol got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Heinz-Dieter Baxter got free with Lucien Kiewit in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lucien Kiewit was a little too slow when Heinz-Dieter Baxter got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 0-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Gertjan Krol kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lucien Kiewit. That made the score 0-3 in the 63 minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, KING's goal looked a bit too open when Heinz-Dieter Baxter came free, but Lucien Kiewit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raamberg Excelsior were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after KING's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mario Ranzijn took the corner. In the 77thth minute of the game Gertjan Krol who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KING's Lucien Kiewit was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Heinz-Dieter Baxter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Lucien Kiewit made a huge save. Raamberg Excelsior were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
