Auke Boeringe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Heiko Klaasens in the 20th minute. A hard shot by Max Kruijs from long distance, 24 minutes into the match, got Auke Boeringe's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Maarten Zijlstra succeeded in the game's 27th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Sjaak Krijnenburg hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maarten Zijlstra to make the kick off. Auke Boeringe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hub Spoel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gorpeind's Erik Iepstra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jurgen Heuvel in the 64th minute of play. During the 75th minute of the match Marcel Zondervan completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marcel Zondervan a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Heiko Klaasens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gorpeind's supporters rose to their feet, but Heiko Klaasens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Auke Boeringe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 78th minute, Casper van Bronckhorst hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the AFC Bal op het Dark defense, Maarten Zijlstra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Auke Boeringe. The AFC Bal op het Dark fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Auke Boeringe should have stopped the shot. After 90 played minutes AFC Bal op het Dark got a freekick which was hit by Roeland Heida. The audience was convinced that Maarten Zijlstra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Auke Boeringe was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game.
