After 8 played minutes KING got a freekick which was hit by Philip Oortwijn. Ryan Kuypers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Rudi Huiting tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ryan Kuypers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 36 minutes into the match, KING's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Aelbrecht came free, but Lucien Kiewit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robbie Zandstra in the 37th minute of play forced KING's goalkeeper Lucien Kiewit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucien Kiewit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jim Aelbrecht, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Pascall van der Meijde managed to get in a good position for a shot. Engwerd's supporters rose to their feet, but Pascall van der Meijde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 44th match minute, KING was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philip Oortwijn to maneuver through the defense. Meindert Ottenhof shot from long distance after 45 played minutes, a shot that Lucien Kiewit with certain difficulty stopped from going in under the crossbar. The KING players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Engwerd were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Folkert Beishuizen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Robbie Zandstra struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
