Auke Boeringe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andre Caluwé in the 10th minute. AFC Bal op het Dark's Auke Boeringe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olof Koekkoek in the 11th minute of play. Berend Huizing hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Otto de Cler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, Jurgen Heuvel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Remond Stuifzand. Schuilenburg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jurgen Heuvel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Berend Huizing hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. When Sjaak Krijnenburg fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFC Bal op het Dark's protests and gave Sjaak Krijnenburg a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th minute Olof Koekkoek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Auke Boeringe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Olof Koekkoek came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Schuilenburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olof Koekkoek couldn't finish the play. Remond Stuifzand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jurgen Heuvel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jurgen Heuvel in the 35th minute of play forced Schuilenburg's goalkeeper Remond Stuifzand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute of the match AFC Bal op het Dark got a corner. Schuilenburg's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Chris Houtman ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Olof Koekkoek took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Auke Boeringe to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Ricky Heijer managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Bal op het Dark's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricky Heijer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remond Stuifzand breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jelle Klerk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remond Stuifzand having to interfere. After the first half AFC Bal op het Dark were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jurgen Heuvel made a kick off. In the 55th minute, Olof Koekkoek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Auke Boeringe was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Ricky Heijer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Remond Stuifzand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre Caluwé in the 66th minute of play forced AFC Bal op het Dark's goalkeeper Auke Boeringe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Auke Boeringe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olof Koekkoek in the 82nd minute of the match. After 83 played minutes AFC Bal op het Dark got a freekick which was hit by Otto de Cler. 86 minutes into the game, Schuilenburg's Andre Caluwé nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Auke Boeringe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Werner Reintjes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Auke Boeringe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to AFC Bal op het Dark getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Vincent Snoeks hit a great ball. Auke Boeringe came out of the goal in the 98th minute to try and stop a shot by Schuilenburg's Andre Caluwé. But to his dismay, Andre Caluwé quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2.
