An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommie Reinders in the 25th minute of play forced Royal Maas Yacht Club's goalkeeper Wim Otten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leon Vliet's late challenge caught a Royal Maas Yacht Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wim Otten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taco Kamps in the 45th minute of the match. The supporters of Hogeweg FC booed when Royal Maas Yacht Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cees de Jong didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Pierre Pik kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 52nd match minute, Royal Maas Yacht Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cees de Jong to maneuver through the defense. After 58 minutes, Taco Oosterbaan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hogeweg FC and the Royal Maas Yacht Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Wim Otten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leon Vliet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lukas Sundén made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cor de Gooijer in the 83rd minute of play. Wim Otten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Vliet, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Hogeweg FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
