Gio de Backer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierre Pik, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincent Haremeijer in the 15th minute of play forced Hogeweg FC's goalkeeper Lukas Sundén to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Vincent Haremeijer came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Dejavu FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vincent Haremeijer couldn't finish the play. When Dejavu FC's Geert Arend Wehkamp in 22 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Lukas Sundén guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Geert Arend Wehkamp who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Lukas Sundén when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 26 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Hogeweg FC's Leon Vliet fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After having played for 29 minutes, Vincent Haremeijer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dejavu FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vincent Haremeijer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Robert Ronde could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Lukas Sundén made a huge save. If Robert Ronde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dejavu FC's Gio de Backer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Vliet in the 42nd minute of play. Geert Arend Wehkamp scored 1-0 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lukas Sundén, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leon Vliet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Vincent Haremeijer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lukas Sundén was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Geert Arend Wehkamp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Lukas Sundén tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th match minute, Dejavu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sjef Asselbergs to maneuver through the defense. 59 minutes into the game, Jan de Gooijer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dejavu FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hogeweg FC the free kick. The supporters of Hogeweg FC booed when Dejavu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan de Gooijer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arvid Melin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gio de Backer. Dejavu FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 65th minute, Hogeweg FC's Leon Vliet ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gio de Backer. Gio de Backer yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Dejavu FC's Vincent Haremeijer got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Dejavu FC's Gio de Backer got control of the ball when Taco Kamps tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jef Batum received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Gio de Backer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Vliet in the 79th minute of play forced Dejavu FC's goalkeeper Gio de Backer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Pierre Pik took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Gio de Backer to make any attempt to save it. Dejavu FC's Gio de Backer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Dejavu FC from getting a goal against them. Thomas Rodenberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91stth minute of the game Vincent Haremeijer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hogeweg FC's Lukas Sundén was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thomas Rodenberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of Hogeweg FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Dejavu FC:s goal. Lukas Sundén went to the wrong direction when Geert Arend Wehkamp was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The Hogeweg FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hogeweg FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
