But to his dismay, Cemil Talayhan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 21st minute of the match Basílio Pires shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Boudewijn Klooster showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Randenburg's zone, Ted Lundström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boudewijn Klooster came out of the goal and Ted Lundström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th minute, Cemil Talayhan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Uithuizen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Boudewijn Klooster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cemil Talayhan in the 34th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Kees Hulscher got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ted Lundström scored 0-3 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Boudewijn Klooster, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Uithuizen's Jerzy Gongolewicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geert Stout in the 45th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jan Coopman made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Uithuizen got a freekick which was hit by Joost Reutter. Kees Hulscher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boudewijn Klooster stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cemil Talayhan's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute, Tim Nijsse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 61st minute, Cemil Talayhan made a precise shot to the right of Boudewijn Klooster. Randenburg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Uithuizen's Douwe Bleiswijk quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Rik Hoeksma, made in the 68th minute of the game. When Cemil Talayhan came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Uithuizen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cemil Talayhan couldn't finish the play. Cemil Talayhan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Boudewijn Klooster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 72 minutes, Rik Craandijk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uithuizen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rik Craandijk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 75 minutes into the game, Rik Hoeksma was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Randenburg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uithuizen the free kick. In the 75th minute, Rik Hoeksma hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Randenburg's Boudewijn Klooster proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Randenburg from getting a goal against them. When Timmie Kuypers fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uithuizen's protests and gave Timmie Kuypers a yellow card for diving instead. Timmie Kuypers hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When the match was over Uithuizen could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Randenburg throughout the match.
