Hønefoss BK's Gio Elders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Koen Dekkers in the 18th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Meister SV's goal looked a bit too open when Pepijn Schouten came free, but Robin Roetering reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giannis de Vries recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Robin Roetering took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ferry Kuypers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hønefoss BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Meister SV the free kick. A hard shot 43 in the game by Stefano Wessels from a close distance when the talented Gio Elders managed to make a qualified save. Hønefoss BK's players were relieved. When Arno Rijaard fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hønefoss BK's protests and gave Arno Rijaard a yellow card for diving instead. In the 76th minute, Arno Rijaard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stefano Wessels in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gio Elders saved Hønefoss BK from getting behind. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 1-5 when Stefano Wessels sped through Hønefoss BK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gio Elders. The Hønefoss BK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. The supporters of Hønefoss BK booed when Meister SV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Koen Dekkers didn't get a good kick on the ball.
