The audience was convinced that Foeke Plescher's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Roberto Cardoso was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Zé Roberto Cardoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Maseland in the 4th minute of the match. Zé Roberto Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arno Cruijff in the 7th minute of play. A collision led to FC Feyenoord getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Oscar Egberts hit a great ball. Zé Roberto Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Foeke Plescher in the 17th minute of play. Zé Roberto Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Maseland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 22 minutes of play, Tibma's Marick Bartels made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Presebal was left in no man's land by his defense there! 25 minutes into the game, Lucas Maseland cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Zé Roberto Cardoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 31 minutes into the match, Tibma's goal looked a bit too open when Lucas Maseland came free, but Zé Roberto Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucas Maseland might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Roberto Cardoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucas Maseland ran back to his position shaking his head. Zé Roberto Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Maseland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Roberto Cardoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Foeke Plescher went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. With a little luck, FC Feyenoord's Ricardo Presebal got control of the ball when Marick Bartels tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 40 played minutes Tibma got a freekick which was hit by Luc Nyemanting. 44 minutes into the match, Tibma's goal looked a bit too open when Foeke Plescher came free, but Zé Roberto Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucas Maseland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Zé Roberto Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Eusebiu Miulescu made the kick off in the second half. Zé Roberto Cardoso made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Foeke Plescher sent off a good shot on target. Ricardo Presebal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebiu Miulescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frank Gasteren hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC Feyenoord booed when Tibma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marick Bartels didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Foeke Plescher came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the FC Feyenoord fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Foeke Plescher couldn't finish the play. The supporters of FC Feyenoord booed when Tibma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guus van Dongen didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 70 in the game by Foeke Plescher from a close distance when the talented Zé Roberto Cardoso managed to make a qualified save. Tibma's players were relieved. After 87 played minutes FC Feyenoord got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Egberts. After 88 minutes, Sipke Broos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Feyenoord and the Tibma players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of FC Feyenoord:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tibma:s goal. FC Feyenoord:s Ricardo Presebal showed great skill when he stopped Eusebiu Miulescu:s penalty. Ricardo Presebal came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Tibma's Mårten Kullgren. But to his dismay, Mårten Kullgren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Maseland in the 97th minute of play forced Tibma's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
