Spectators: 7998 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1839, VIP seats: 159) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Stefano Wessels took the kick off in the first half of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elroy Klaasens in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robin Roetering prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 8th match minute, Meister SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Bouwens to maneuver through the defense. After 14 minutes, Stefano Wessels mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Meister SV and the Vitesse Arnhem players grew even worse after the yellow card. 16 minutes into the match, Elroy Klaasens notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Meister SV's Robin Roetering. Robin Roetering was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 21st minute of the match Humberto Bouwens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hans Kok skillfully saved the ball. Stefano Wessels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Hans Kok tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robin Roetering made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elroy Klaasens in the 24th minute of play. If Roeland Stout had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 28 minutes, Gooitzen Engelaar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meister SV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gooitzen Engelaar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hans Kok came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Meister SV's Stefano Wessels. But to his dismay, Stefano Wessels quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The audience was convinced that Stefano Wessels's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans Kok was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Robin Roetering made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elroy Klaasens in the 37th minute of play. Stefano Wessels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Hans Kok tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Vitesse Arnhem's zone, Stefano Wessels stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hans Kok came out of the goal and Stefano Wessels tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elroy Klaasens to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Meister SV got a freekick which was hit by Koen Dekkers. 61 minutes into the game, Koen Dekkers recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hans Kok. Koen Dekkers showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Stefano Wessels's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hans Kok read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Vitesse Arnhem's Elroy Klaasens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robin Roetering made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Roeland Stout received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Hans Kok tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute Stefano Wessels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Kok saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Vitesse Arnhem getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Arjen Ruiter hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Koen Dekkers in the 82nd minute of play forced Vitesse Arnhem's goalkeeper Hans Kok to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute Koen Dekkers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Kok saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stefano Wesselss short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Hans Kok to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tonnie Ritsma hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute, Roeland Stout got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Meister SV players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
