Gong Chao Chang was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Foeke Plescher got free with Gong Chao Chang in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, FC Feyenoord's 董帆兴 got a free kick in the 25th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Val's Dirk Reinhard broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. An unexpectedly hard shot by Foeke Plescher in the 29th minute of play forced Val's goalkeeper Gong Chao Chang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricardo Presebal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iswadi Sujarwadi, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Gong Chao Chang stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Foeke Plescher's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. When Iswadi Sujarwadi came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Val fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iswadi Sujarwadi couldn't finish the play. Val were furious when Wesley Buckinx was red carded, 72 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 72nd minute, one of Val:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Val. Foeke Plescher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 80th minute, Dirk Ieberts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the match, Val's goal looked a bit too open when Foeke Plescher came free, but Gong Chao Chang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gong Chao Chang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stephan Speelman in the 88th minute of play. Val's Gong Chao Chang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Foeke Plescher in the 89th minute of play.
