Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Elmar Dam took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Elmar Dam notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Legia Maassluis's Ed Kruit. Ed Kruit was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 6th play minutes Elmar Dam shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Ed Kruit and just under the crossbar into goal. Heiko Dagelet hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Elmar Dam managed to get in a good position for a shot. sc de Jong's supporters rose to their feet, but Elmar Dam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ed Kruit breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Victor Damstra hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 23 minutes of play, sc de Jong's Jaap Themmen made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ed Kruit was left in no man's land by his defense there! 27 minutes into the match, Legia Maassluis's goal looked a bit too open when Jaap Themmen came free, but Ed Kruit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mathieu Roetering made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erben Wekenburg in the 30th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Johan Seinstra during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, sc de Jong's Johan Seinstra got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Ed Kruit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaap Themmen in the 36th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, sc de Jong's goal looked a bit too open when Erben Wekenburg came free, but Mathieu Roetering reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marc Eiting could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Mathieu Roetering made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elmar Dam in the 46th minute of play forced Legia Maassluis's goalkeeper Ed Kruit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Elmar Dam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Erben Wekenburg to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Jaap Themmen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Ed Kruit was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 57 minutes into the match, Jaap Themmen notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Legia Maassluis's Ed Kruit. Ed Kruit was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 60th minute, Legia Maassluis's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jaap Themmen fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mike Holt during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of sc de Jong booed when Legia Maassluis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mike Holt didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jaap Themmen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Joost van Halst fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored sc de Jong's protests and gave Joost van Halst a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to sc de Jong getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Joost van Halst hit a great ball. Jaap Themmen might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ed Kruit. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaap Themmen ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as sc de Jong's Elmar Dam slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ed Kruit. That made the score 0-6 after 75 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mike Holt in the 78th minute of play forced sc de Jong's goalkeeper Mathieu Roetering to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Izaak de Boer kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ed Kruit. That made the score 0-7 in the 80 minute of play. When Izaak de Boer came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the sc de Jong fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Izaak de Boer couldn't finish the play. After 85 minutes of play, Legia Maassluis's Marc Eiting made it 1-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mathieu Roetering was left in no man's land by his defense there! Erben Wekenburg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Marc Eiting got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mathieu Roetering showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marc Eiting, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Legia Maassluis:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of sc de Jong:s goal. Emil Dekens shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The sc de Jong players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
