Dirk Rijkaard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erben Wekenburg in the 67th minute of play. Ed Kruit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Drent in the 72nd minute of play. Dirk Rijkaard came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Legia Maassluis's Marc Eiting. But to his dismay, Marc Eiting quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Legia Maassluis booed when Wessingen SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gijs Klijnstra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Dirk Rijkaard successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 88 played minutes Legia Maassluis got a freekick which was hit by Victor Damstra. Ed Kruit stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joeri Rieks's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. The Wessingen SC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Legia Maassluis's performance. The match ended with a win for Legia Maassluis.
