With a left leg Ed Kruit saved Legia Maassluis from getting behind. In the 13th minute Koen Dekkers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ed Kruit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roeland Stout fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ed Kruit having to interfere. A collision led to Meister SV getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Gert Wemers hit a great ball. In the 26th minute Erben Wekenburg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Roetering saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Stefano Wessels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 minutes, Stefano Wessels made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Legia Maassluis's Ed Kruit tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Robin Roetering made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erben Wekenburg in the 36th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stefano Wessels in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ed Kruit prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 44th minute, Harm Planting hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erben Wekenburg was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stefano Wessels in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Humberto Bouwens's late challenge caught a Legia Maassluis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Humberto Bouwens helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th minute Stefano Wessels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ed Kruit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Legia Maassluis's Ed Kruit got control of the ball when Stefano Wessels tried to sneak it across the goal line. Stefano Wesselss short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Ed Kruit to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ed Kruit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Koen Dekkers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Meister SV could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Legia Maassluis throughout the match.
