After a defensive mix-up in Legia Maassluis's zone, Alfredo McGee stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ed Kruit came out of the goal and Alfredo McGee tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 8 minutes into the match, Val's goal looked a bit too open when Erben Wekenburg came free, but Gong Chao Chang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Legia Maassluis's Erben Wekenburg in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Val's goalie prevented a goal. Iswadi Sujarwadi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Erben Wekenburg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gong Chao Chang having to interfere. If Alfredo McGee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Iswadi Sujarwadi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Val fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Mike Holt hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iswadi Sujarwadi in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ed Kruit prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marc Eiting sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hans Zuiverloon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gong Chao Chang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erben Wekenburg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute Marc Eiting shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gong Chao Chang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iswadi Sujarwadi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hans Zuiverloon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ed Kruit read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Hans Zuiverloon took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Ed Kruit to make any attempt to save it. Iswadi Sujarwadi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Ed Kruit made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erben Wekenburg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Erben Wekenburg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Legia Maassluis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erben Wekenburg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Erben Wekenburg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Dirk Reinhard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 58 minutes into the match, Alfredo McGee notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Legia Maassluis's Ed Kruit. Ed Kruit was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iswadi Sujarwadi in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ed Kruit prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Val's Iswadi Sujarwadi got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 69 minutes had been played when some careless play by Val's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jurgen Jonkman was slow to take the kick. During this time Legia Maassluis's players had a chance to rest. Iswadi Sujarwadi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Val's Iswadi Sujarwadi in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Legia Maassluis's goalie prevented a goal. After 83 minutes, Iswadi Sujarwadi made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Legia Maassluis's Ed Kruit tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Alfredo McGee came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Val fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredo McGee couldn't finish the play. Marc Eiting succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 5-1 in the 88th playminute. In the 93rd minute Iswadi Sujarwadi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ed Kruit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Val fully deserved thier win.
