If Jan Adriaanse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd minute, Frederik Overmars left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Geel Blauw United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Jan Adriaanse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Greef having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

In the 80th minute Jan Adriaanse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Greef saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Frederik Overmars came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Geel Blauw United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frederik Overmars couldn't finish the play. Michael Greef didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Steven Wilhelm went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijs Baars in the 89th minute of play forced Geel Blauw United's goalkeeper Ronald van Zeist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arjan Wensing charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
