Evert Smibum made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniël van Dalfsen in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Daniël van Dalfsen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Evert Smibum was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, Fluitende Ventieltjes FC's Patrick Famelen got a free kick in the 14th minute. Fluitende Ventieltjes FC's Evert Smibum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eddy Berendt in the 16th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Famelen in the 22nd minute of play forced Poonhaven's goalkeeper Adriaan Smit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Poonhaven's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Famelen came free, but Adriaan Smit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Boudewijn Roodenburg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Poonhaven's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fluitende Ventieltjes FC the free kick. Boudewijn Roodenburg kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Humberto Andriessen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriaan Smit having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Daniël van Dalfsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 39 minutes of play, Poonhaven's Eddy Berendt made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Evert Smibum was left in no man's land by his defense there! Raymond de Wolf kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. 49 minutes into the match, Daniël van Dalfsen notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Fluitende Ventieltjes FC's Evert Smibum. Evert Smibum was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eddy Berendt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Daniël van Dalfsen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Evert Smibum when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Evert Smibum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddy Berendt, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Poonhaven's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Famelen came free, but Adriaan Smit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Humberto Andriessen came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Fluitende Ventieltjes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Andriessen couldn't finish the play. Humberto Andriessen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Adriaan Smit tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute Patrick Famelen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriaan Smit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franck Zuid hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute, Brain van der Velden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Ivo Scholte in the 80th minute really tested Evert Smibum's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Patrick Famelen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Adriaan Smit tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Fluitende Ventieltjes FC's Franck Zuid got a free kick in the 87th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Poonhaven's Ivo Scholte broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 90 minutes into the match, Fluitende Ventieltjes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eddy Berendt came free, but Evert Smibum reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 90 minutes, Ton Wermans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fluitende Ventieltjes FC and the Poonhaven players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Poonhaven booed when Fluitende Ventieltjes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ton Wermans didn't get a good kick on the ball. With 93 minutes on the clock, Mario Matthijs commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Daniël van Dalfsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 100th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Poonhaven walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
