Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eddy Berendt started the match with the kick off. After 5 played minutes Eddy Berendt rounded SV Spakenburg's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Eddy Berendt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maikel Redan took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adriaan Smit. Adriaan Smit dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 15th minute, Boudewijn Roodenburg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Poonhaven's Adriaan Smit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sjoerd Helwig in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of SV Spakenburg booed when Poonhaven was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymond de Wolf didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute Maikel Redan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adriaan Smit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Sjoerd Helwig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adriaan Smit. Poonhaven's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sjoerd Helwig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Damario Villaboa hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sjoerd Helwig in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adriaan Smit saved Poonhaven from getting behind. Boudewijn Roodenburg charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boudewijn Roodenburg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Boudewijn Roodenburg hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, Sjoerd Helwig left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SV Spakenburg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Frank Pragt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Adriaan Smit tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Stef van Zonderen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The wind increased when Sjoerd Helwig made the kick off in the second half. SV Spakenburg's Maikel Redan got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 57 minutes into the match, Poonhaven's goal looked a bit too open when Sjoerd Helwig came free, but Adriaan Smit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Boudewijn Roodenburg was shown his second yellow card after 61 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 63rd match minute, Poonhaven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boudewijn Roodenburg to maneuver through the defense. Adriaan Smit stood somewhat misplaced when Sjoerd Helwig came free in front of goal and shot 1-4 to the left of him in the 64 minute. After a defensive mix-up in Poonhaven's zone, Frank Pragt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adriaan Smit came out of the goal and Frank Pragt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Poonhaven's Adriaan Smit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sjoerd Helwig in the 68th minute of play. Raymond de Wolf hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After 78 played minutes SV Spakenburg got a freekick which was hit by Teo Everts. Max Gerrits recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Poonhaven's Adriaan Smit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sjoerd Helwig in the 93rd minute of play. Adriaan Smit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sjoerd Helwig, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. In the 95th match minute, Poonhaven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Rein van Dessel to maneuver through the defense. SV Spakenburg played a much better game than Poonhaven and deserved their victory. The Poonhaven players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
