Evert Smibum came out and tried to block the shot, but Hubert Kleefstra slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. Thomas Dirks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Famelen, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Fluitende Ventieltjes FC's Evert Smibum proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Fluitende Ventieltjes FC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 14 minutes, Hubert Kleefstra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Delson FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hubert Kleefstra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd match minute, Delson FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klaus Harmannus to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Fluitende Ventieltjes FC's Evert Smibum got control of the ball when Remco de Cler tried to sneak it across the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, Humberto Andriessen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fluitende Ventieltjes FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Delson FC the free kick. After 28 played minutes Fluitende Ventieltjes FC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Andriessen. Thomas Dirks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Andriessen, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 30th match minute, Delson FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klaus Harmannus to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Delson FC's Marnix Schuiling got a free kick in the 34th minute. If Humberto Andriessen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Humberto Andriessen in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thomas Dirks prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Delson FC's Thomas Dirks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Famelen in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Patrick Famelen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Hubert Kleefstra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evert Smibum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Klaus Harmannus hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. A collision led to Delson FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Marnix Schuiling hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Famelen in the 72nd minute of play forced Delson FC's goalkeeper Thomas Dirks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patrick Famelen in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thomas Dirks saved Delson FC from getting behind. When Remco de Cler came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Delson FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remco de Cler couldn't finish the play. Remco de Cler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Fluitende Ventieltjes FC booed when Delson FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teo Bennink didn't get a good kick on the ball. Coenraad Schreuder kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Remco de Cler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Brain van der Velden in the 88th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Delson FC's Taco Knopper. Evert Smibum made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hubert Kleefstra in the 89th minute of play. Remco de Cler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marnix Schuiling might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evert Smibum. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marnix Schuiling ran back to his position shaking his head. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Delson FC fully deserved thier win.
