Spectators: 7371 (Terracing: 5375, Seating: 1837, VIP seats: 159) 3 minutes into the match, Hubert Kleefstra dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Adriaan Smit, 1-0. 6 minutes into the match, Daniël van Dalfsen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thomas Dirks. Delson FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniël van Dalfsen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Remco de Cler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Poonhaven's zone, Remco de Cler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adriaan Smit came out of the goal and Remco de Cler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Poonhaven's Boudewijn Roodenburg got a free kick in the 14th minute. After having played for 18 minutes, Remco de Cler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Delson FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Remco de Cler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Remco de Cler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Adriaan Smit made a huge save. The supporters of Poonhaven booed when Delson FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marnix Schuiling didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Remco de Cler came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Delson FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remco de Cler couldn't finish the play. Eddy Berendt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eddy Berendt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddy Berendt in the 46th minute of play forced Delson FC's goalkeeper Thomas Dirks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marnix Schuiling kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Delson FC's Thomas Dirks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniël van Dalfsen in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Remco de Cler to strike the kick off in the second half. 62 minutes into the match, Poonhaven's goal looked a bit too open when Remco de Cler came free, but Adriaan Smit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Delson FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Eddy Berendt 65 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. When Remco de Cler got free in front of the goal in the 71st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Adriaan Smit was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Daniël van Dalfsen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Thomas Dirks made a huge save. Thomas Dirks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddy Berendt, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Adriaan Smit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remco de Cler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thomas Dirks stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Boudewijn Roodenburg's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Thomas Dirks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddy Berendt, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Remco de Cler blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adriaan Smit having to make a save. Thomas Dirks made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Daniël van Dalfsen sent off a good shot on target. Delson FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Poonhaven to leave the ground with a draw.
