FC Fruithof's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hette Kun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Fruithof's Fabian de Witte managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Abraham van Dessel in the 17 minute of the game. Corné Been's late challenge caught a FC Fruithof's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Corné Been helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th match minute, Pride of the North was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corné Been to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th match minute, FC Fruithof was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Oost to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Smit in the 25th minute of play forced FC Fruithof's goalkeeper Dudu Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th match minute, FC Fruithof was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filip Carel to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the game, one of FC Fruithof:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 32 played minutes FC Fruithof got a freekick which was hit by Twan Brandsma. In the 34th minute, one of FC Fruithof:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Fruithof. After having played for 39 minutes, Jelte Seedorf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Fruithof's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jelte Seedorf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hette Kun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hans Siebum having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Pride of the North's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Hette Kun fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 44th minute, Hette Kun made a precise shot to the right of Hans Siebum. Pride of the North's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. FC Fruithof's Jorn Buskermolen was substituted for Hette Kun. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jorn Buskermolen made a kick off. Dudu Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rien Saarberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gertjan Hoffhuis hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After having played for 64 minutes, Jelte Seedorf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Fruithof's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jelte Seedorf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dirk Pluym during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 68 played minutes Pride of the North got a freekick which was hit by Dirk Pluym. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rien Saarberg got free with Dudu Rossi in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jorn Buskermolen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Jelte Seedorf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rdth minute of the game Jorn Buskermolen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pride of the North's Hans Siebum was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dudu Rossi was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Henk-Jan Stroobos capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Henk-Jan Stroobos really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Hans Siebum showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorn Buskermolen in the 89th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Pride of the North defense, Jelte Seedorf kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hans Siebum. The Pride of the North fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hans Siebum should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jelte Seedorf in the 98th minute of play forced Pride of the North's goalkeeper Hans Siebum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
