After some careless play in the Rietven HC defense, Chris Veltman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolf Kimman. The Rietven HC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolf Kimman should have stopped the shot. Roderick van Galen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cláudio Muslera having to make a save. Arne Seinstra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Rolf Kimman made a huge save. Rietven HC's Rolf Kimman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Rietven HC from getting a goal against them. Jurre Beukenkamp might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cláudio Muslera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jurre Beukenkamp ran back to his position shaking his head. If Roderick van Galen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The supporters of Rietven HC booed when Unit5 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arne Seinstra didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Unit5's Jack Carels got a free kick in the 31st minute. Roderick van Galen struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Cláudio Muslera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rietven HC. In the 32nd minute, Roderick van Galen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cláudio Muslera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rolf Meijeringh in the 34th minute of play. Roderick van Galen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. With a little luck, Rietven HC's Rolf Kimman got control of the ball when Arne Seinstra tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rolf Kimman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Thijsse in the 49th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jurre Beukenkamp to strike the kick off in the second half. After 57 minutes, Thomas Zwart mouthed his way into the referee's book. Rietven HC's Rolf Kimman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roy Thijsse in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to Rietven HC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Thomas Zwart hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the game, Unit5's Roy Thijsse nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rietven HC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-1.
