The long shot by Sjaak Abbenbroek in the 12th minute really tested Jelmer Carels's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 15 minutes into the match, Paulo Oliverios had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jelmer Carels. Koningsbosch HC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Oliverios was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. A collision led to Koningsbosch HC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Daan Achterberg hit a great ball. Zhao Ping Hui showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronny de Mol in the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronny de Mol in the 24th minute of play forced Spa's goalkeeper Zhao Ping Hui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Koningsbosch HC defense, Tommi Lundell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jelmer Carels. The Koningsbosch HC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jelmer Carels should have stopped the shot. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Koningsbosch HC reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommi Lundell got free with Jelmer Carels in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 47 played minutes Koningsbosch HC got a freekick which was hit by Pascall van der Tol. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, 龙渊挺 managed to get in a good position for a shot. Spa's supporters rose to their feet, but 龙渊挺 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jelmer Carels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tommi Lundell to make the kick off. Tommi Lundell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Jelmer Carels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 56 minutes, Tommi Lundell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tommi Lundell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 61st minute, Paulo Oliverios ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jelmer Carels was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. In the 89th minute, Paulo Oliverios got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
