Spectators: 7465 (Terracing: 5575, Seating: 1840, VIP seats: 50) Rolf Kimman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilfried Ponk in the 5th minute of play. Wilfried Ponk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Rietven HC's Maurice Bense got a free kick in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elbert Eisenga in the 13th minute of play forced Rietven HC's goalkeeper Rolf Kimman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th minute, Rolf Meijeringh made a precise shot to the right of Filip Meurs. Gooische club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After some careless play in the Rietven HC defense, Wilfried Ponk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolf Kimman. The Rietven HC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolf Kimman should have stopped the shot. When Filip de Zwart came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Rietven HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filip de Zwart couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Gooische club's Kristof Asselbergs got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Filip Meurs was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jurre Beukenkamp showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 27 minute of play. Rolf Kimman came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Gooische club's Wilfried Ponk. But to his dismay, Wilfried Ponk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rolf Meijeringh got free with Filip Meurs in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Eufrasio Gala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filip Meurs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jurre Beukenkamp in the 44th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jurre Beukenkamp to make the kick off. When Jacob Zwartkruis came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Gooische club fans jumped to their feet. In the 52nd minute, Rietven HC's Damien Struik seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Damien Struik the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Rietven HC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Damien Struik had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 53rd match minute, Rietven HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damien Struik to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute, Elbert Eisenga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rolf Meijeringh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filip Meurs having to interfere. Wilfried Ponk's late challenge caught a Rietven HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilfried Ponk helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Rietven HC booed when Gooische club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilfried Ponk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilfried Ponk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Rolf Kimman made a huge save. 80 minutes into the game, Rolf Meijeringh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rietven HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gooische club the free kick. Rolf Meijeringh hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Filip Meurs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roderick van Galen, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Gooische club's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
