Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Antoon Neijsen got the match started through his kick off. Antoon Halen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antoon Neijsen in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 5th minute, Roy Struik ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Antoon Halen was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. LSC 1890's Dé Coffee proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save LSC 1890 from getting a goal against them. In the 13th minute Antoon Neijsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antoon Halen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marnix Schild's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Dé Coffee skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some careless play in the Baken defense, Antoon Neijsen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antoon Halen. The Baken fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antoon Halen should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Roy Struik's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antoon Halen was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Frits Ijkwezen succeeded in the game's 26th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. With an all-out effort, Baken's Dé Coffee threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Frits Ijkwezen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Tommie de Vos hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. If Antoon Neijsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roy Struik struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Antoon Halen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LSC 1890. Antoon Halen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antoon Neijsen in the 44th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antoon Neijsen in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Antoon Halen saved Baken from getting behind. If Antoon Neijsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frits Ijkwezen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A hard shot by Gerasim Demin from long distance, 52 minutes into the match, got Antoon Halen's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Antoon Neijsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dé Coffee took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frits Ijkwezen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antoon Halen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antoon Neijsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. A collision led to Baken getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Bert Blanc hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match, LSC 1890's Gerasim Demin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antoon Neijsen in the 68th minute of play forced Baken's goalkeeper Antoon Halen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 72 minutes, Roy Struik managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LSC 1890's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roy Struik was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 74 minutes into the game, Roy Struik cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Antoon Halen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roy Struiks short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Antoon Halen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Antoon Neijsen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79th match minute, Baken was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Trenning to maneuver through the defense. LSC 1890's Dé Coffee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marnix Schild in the 83rd minute of play. When the match had been going on for 88 minutes, LSC 1890's Gerasim Demin got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Antoon Halen. Frits Ijkwezen hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Antoon Neijsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Antoon Halen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The LSC 1890 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing LSC 1890 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
