Geert van Harten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tom Halen in the 16th minute of the match. Japke Kruijs made in the 20th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Tom Halen however managed to control. In the 24th minute, Gonzalo Kelemen made a precise shot to the right of Geert van Harten. Poortugaal FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 26 played minutes Poortugaal FC got a freekick which was hit by Anastasio Muno. Geert van Harten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zymbyl Leka, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. If Jeffrey Heeringa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jeffrey Heeringa hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan de Backer in the 47th minute of play forced Poortugaal FC's goalkeeper Geert van Harten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
