An unexpectedly hard shot by Luc Heuving in the 22nd minute of play forced Harmelen's goalkeeper Lex Brürs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Lex Brürs successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Harmelen's Lex Brürs proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Harmelen from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Harmelen's Lex Brürs got control of the ball when Diego Milito tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hubert van Rhijn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeroen Kimman having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Harmelen's goalkeeper Lex Brürs had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raymond Prins. Geale Westerink might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lex Brürs. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geale Westerink ran back to his position shaking his head. 39 minutes into the match, Raymond Prins had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lex Brürs. Harmelen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raymond Prins was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After 45 minutes Harmelen's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Geale Westerink who took care of the corner kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Raymond Prins advanced and headed the ball into goal, 3-0 in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Milito stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lex Brürs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karel Zilverberg in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 56th minute Raymond Prins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lex Brürs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st match minute, Harmelen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrzej Trzenzalski to maneuver through the defense. Miroslaw Szymkowiak hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Geale Westerink struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute.
