The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Harmelen's Lex Brürs got control of the ball when Folker van Zalingen tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Harmelen booed when Baaidunen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gijsbert Hulsebos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henny van der Schaaf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lex Brürs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernst Hoogendorp, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 8 minutes into the match, Harmelen's goal looked a bit too open when Eelco van Rijswijk came free, but Lex Brürs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 12 played minutes Baaidunen got a freekick which was hit by Aad Heuving. Henny van der Schaaf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hubert van Rhijn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atilano Etor kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eelco van Rijswijk in the 17th minute of play forced Harmelen's goalkeeper Lex Brürs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, Stephan Kramer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henny van der Schaaf was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, Harmelen's Atilano Etor got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute, Harald Onderwater hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chiel van Zaanen helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Baaidunen getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Chiel van Zaanen hit a great ball. Henny van der Schaaf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hubert van Rhijn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baaidunen's Henny van der Schaaf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stephan Kramer in the 36th minute of play. If Atilano Etor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lex Brürs was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Timmie Beukenkamp showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 38 minute of play. Harald Onderwater sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute Stephan Kramer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henny van der Schaaf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lex Brürs made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Folker van Zalingen sent off a good shot on target. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stephan Kramer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Hubert van Rhijn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Baaidunen's Folker van Zalingen got a free kick in the 59th minute. Baaidunen's Henny van der Schaaf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stephan Kramer in the 67th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stephan Kramer in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henny van der Schaaf prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timmie Beukenkamp in the 74th minute of play forced Harmelen's goalkeeper Lex Brürs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lex Brürs was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chiel van Zaanen kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Many of Harmelen's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Harmelen may have spent more time on the ball, but Baaidunen were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
