After 9 played minutes Weijereind S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Richard Kluivert. After 10 played minutes Weijereind S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Wesley Reitsma. 11 minutes into the game, Gert Koekkoek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Thomas Leonidis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 15 minutes into the match, Weijereind S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Audun Richardsen came free, but Thomas Leonidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Spyros Skalidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th minute, Harris Stroobos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Klaas Vennegoor hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Thomas Leonidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Napoleon Gollob in the 24th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Audun Richardsen took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Thomas Leonidis to make any attempt to save it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Audun Richardsen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gert Koekkoek scored 6-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Thomas Leonidis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tonnie van Dongen during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Knollenveld FC booed when Weijereind S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tonnie van Dongen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Knollenveld FC's Karsten van Harten got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, Weijereind S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Audun Richardsen came free, but Thomas Leonidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 67 minutes into the game, Gerrie Bust was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Weijereind S.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Knollenveld FC the free kick. In the 67th minute, Gerrie Bust hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th minute, Weijereind S.C.'s Robert-Jan de Jong seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Robert-Jan de Jong the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Weijereind S.C. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Robert-Jan de Jong had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. With a little luck, Knollenveld FC's Adrian Jakobsson got control of the ball when Spyros Skalidis tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Weijereind S.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thomas Leonidis should have stopped the shot. Thomas Leonidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Audun Richardsen in the 94th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Knollenveld FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
