Weijereind S.C.'s Thomas Leonidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fermin Bonadona in the 9th minute of play. Fausto Mangione sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the game, Jan Rein Iemberge was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Medevoort's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Weijereind S.C. the free kick. In the 12th minute, Jan Rein Iemberge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Spyros Skalidis did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Simon Drábek 14 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, Karahan Saylan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Medevoort fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Simon Drábek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wesley Reitsma in the 27th minute of play. Simon Drábek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Kluivert, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Stijn Abbekerk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute Richard Kluivert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Drábek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Spyros Skalidis in the 51st minute of play forced Medevoort's goalkeeper Simon Drábek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 52nd minute of the match Weijereind S.C. got a corner. Medevoort's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wesley Reitsma ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Spyros Skalidis almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Medevoort's Simon Drábek did a great save. In the 53rd minute, Robert-Jan de Jong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Weijereind S.C.'s zone, Fausto Mangione stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Leonidis came out of the goal and Fausto Mangione tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Tonnie van Dongen fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Weijereind S.C.'s protests and gave Tonnie van Dongen a yellow card for diving instead. Tonnie van Dongen kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 60th match minute, Weijereind S.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert-Jan de Jong to maneuver through the defense. Thomas Leonidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karahan Saylan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Stijn Abbekerk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Medevoort! Spyros Skalidis placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 70th minute, Jan Rein Iemberge fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Kluivert in the 72nd minute of play forced Medevoort's goalkeeper Simon Drábek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wesley Reitsma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute of the match Jurjen de Ridder shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thomas Leonidis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 84th minute, Spyros Skalidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Weijereind S.C.'s Thomas Leonidis got control of the ball when Karahan Saylan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thomas Leonidis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fausto Mangione's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. After 95 minutes of play, Weijereind S.C.'s Spyros Skalidis made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Simon Drábek was left in no man's land by his defense there! Medevoort's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Weijereind S.C. had won, even though Medevoort had held more of the ball.
