In the 12th minute, GALATASARAY's Walery Mochowak seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Walery Mochowak the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of GALATASARAY protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Walery Mochowak had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to GALATASARAY getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Walery Mochowak hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Billy Sluis made a precise shot to the right of Hans Pik. GALATASARAY's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The supporters of Fargo SC booed when GALATASARAY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domenik Haar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Folkert Kolkman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fargo SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Folkert Kolkman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hans Pik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerard Hoogsteen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jos Kinear having to interfere. Hans Pik was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Otto Dijken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jos Kinear made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerard Hoogsteen in the 85th minute of play. Hans Pik made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Arjan Ros sent off a good shot on target. Rogier Kiewit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Hans Pik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
