Kevin Newman scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gooitzen Meinders, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gooitzen Meinders showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Newman, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Carlos Gustavo Anatibia sped through Harzan FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gooitzen Meinders. Kevin Newman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gooitzen Meinders having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Harzan FC's zone, Kevin Newman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gooitzen Meinders came out of the goal and Kevin Newman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the game, Kevin Newman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Gooitzen Meinders was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 41stth minute of the game Kevin Newman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Harzan FC's Gooitzen Meinders was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The De Ontembare Leeuwen fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when De Ontembare Leeuwen's Kevin Newman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kevin Newman to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kevin Newman in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gooitzen Meinders saved Harzan FC from getting behind. Raymond Heersprink went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Carlos Gustavo Anatibia almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Harzan FC's Gooitzen Meinders did a great save. If Wouter Zimmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the match, Harzan FC's Chris Kimman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Heiko Som narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 76 minutes into the match, Harzan FC's goalkeeper Gooitzen Meinders had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernest Kleinman. Harzan FC's Gooitzen Meinders proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Harzan FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of De Ontembare Leeuwen booed when Harzan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bastiaan Staarman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute Raymond Heersprink shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gooitzen Meinders saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Harzan FC's Wouter Zimmer got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When De Ontembare Leeuwen's Kevin Newman in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With his leg Gooitzen Meinders managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when De Ontembare Leeuwen's Ernest Kleinman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The De Ontembare Leeuwen supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing De Ontembare Leeuwen would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
