George Amato Gauci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Blata l-Bajda's Rosario Fenech got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 8th minute of the match Neil Tabone shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gavin Cornelisse showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Luca Hili's late challenge caught a Laandaas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luca Hili helped the player get up and apologised. Luca Hili hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Harry Fava kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. If Julian Gafà had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the game, Laandaas's Harry Fava nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gavin Cornelisse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Laandaas's Sean Portelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Gafà in the 34th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Gafà in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sean Portelli saved Laandaas from getting behind. A collision led to Blata l-Bajda getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Andrea Lowell hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the match, Blata l-Bajda's goal looked a bit too open when George Amato Gauci came free, but Gavin Cornelisse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Harry Fava made the kick off in the second half. Julian Gafà received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Sean Portelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sean Portelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Gafà, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. George Amato Gauci might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gavin Cornelisse. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. George Amato Gauci ran back to his position shaking his head. If Ramon De Rinaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugenio Tedesco kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Blata l-Bajda's Jason Fenech got a free kick in the 73rd minute. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Harry Fava took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Gavin Cornelisse to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Laandaas booed when Blata l-Bajda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Gafà didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Blata l-Bajda's goalkeeper Gavin Cornelisse had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by George Amato Gauci. 83 minutes into the game, Julian Gafà cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Sean Portelli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Laandaas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Laandaas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
