The supporters of Mosta booed when Ħamrun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ġorġ Xiberras didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Ħamrun defense, Jacob Bongailas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Steve Rapa. The Ħamrun fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Steve Rapa should have stopped the shot. Brady Reale struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. The supporters of Mosta booed when Ħamrun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Cremona didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Jacob Bongailas notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Ħamrun's Steve Rapa. Steve Rapa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Charlon Calì who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Steve Rapa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 81 minutes into the match, Ħamrun's goalkeeper Steve Rapa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charlon Calì. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luca Cassar Naudi in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keith Cilia saved Mosta from getting behind. After having played for 88 minutes, Jacob Bongailas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mosta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacob Bongailas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ħamrun's Dennis Cassar Overend in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Ħamrun supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Mosta's performance. The match ended with a win for Mosta.
