In the 18th minute Robbie Doublet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Axiak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cedric Restall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes in the game, Andrew Captur dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Jesred Titley might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bernard Grima. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jesred Titley ran back to his position shaking his head. Andrew Captur could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Bernard Grima made a huge save. Bernard Grima made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andrew Captur in the 43rd minute. After a rather tough play, Luqa St.Andrews's Tommy Mugliett got a free kick in the 47th minute. Cedric Lanzon's late challenge caught a Luqa St.Andrews's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cedric Lanzon helped the player get up and apologised. After 49 played minutes Cospicua Youngsters got a freekick which was hit by Cedric Lanzon.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robbie Doublet to strike the kick off in the second half. If Robbie Doublet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andrew Captur in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernard Grima prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cospicua Youngsters's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
