Isaac Saguna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timothy Mula having to interfere. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 84 minutes into the match, Samuel Bajo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Timothy Mula, 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anthony Camilleri Parlato got free with Timothy Mula in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Naxxar Lions's Stephen Genovese got a free kick in the 95th minute. Steve Grixti was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 96th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Templars FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
