Jacob Caruana Curran scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angelo Arapa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Isaac Saguna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Louis Bondin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Templars FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Anthony Camilleri Parlato hit a great ball. After having played for 25 minutes, Isaac Saguna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Templars FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isaac Saguna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Madliena's zone, Samuel Bajo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Louis Bondin came out of the goal and Samuel Bajo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Isaac Saguna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Louis Bondin having to interfere. Samuel Bajo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Louis Bondin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Etienne Massa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Templars FC's Samuel Bajo got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Madliena's Louis Bondin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Madliena from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Madliena defense, Samuel Bajo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Louis Bondin. The Madliena fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Louis Bondin should have stopped the shot. Templars FC's Samuel Bajo got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jacob Caruana Curran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angelo Arapa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliver Rolè, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Templars FC's Angelo Arapa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Rolè in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oliver Rolè was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Samuel Bajo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Louis Bondin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Madliena's Louis Bondin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaac Saguna in the 54th minute of play. In the 60th minute of the match Madliena got a corner. Templars FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bernard Portelli ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Templars FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Anthony Camilleri Parlato hit a great ball. Angelo Arapa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darren Taliana in the 65th minute. Louis Bondin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Bajo in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 84thth minute of the game Isaac Saguna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Madliena's Louis Bondin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matteo Amato during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Templars FC booed when Madliena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matteo Amato didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuel Bajo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Louis Bondin having to interfere. Anthony Camilleri Parlato got his second yellow card in the match during the 90th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 94th minute Madliena were awarded a corner. Bernard Portelli went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Bernard Portelli got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Angelo Arapa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Templars FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
