The goal made the score 1-0. After a rather tough play, Ghaxaq F.C's Benjamin Arano got a free kick in the 7th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Ghaxaq F.C's Raúl Gonzalez Pirez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ben Haber made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Andrew Zarb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Ghaxaq F.C's Raúl Gonzalez Pirez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ben Haber. That made the score 3-0 after 21 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, High Ridge's Martin Troisi got a free kick in the 25th minute. With a little luck, High Ridge's Ben Haber got control of the ball when Raúl Gonzalez Pirez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Donato Lepre left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ghaxaq F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Raúl Gonzalez Pirez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ben Haber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of High Ridge booed when Ghaxaq F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nathan Scifo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haitz Mendez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfred Cuschieri in the 40th minute of the match. A hard shot 42 in the game by Raúl Gonzalez Pirez from a close distance when the talented Ben Haber managed to make a qualified save. High Ridge's players were relieved. In the 46thth minute of the game Raúl Gonzalez Pirez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but High Ridge's Ben Haber was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Ben Haber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raúl Gonzalez Pirez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raúl Gonzalez Pirez struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Ben Haber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ghaxaq F.C. A collision led to High Ridge getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Adriano Pullicino hit a great ball. Andrew Zarb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raúl Gonzalez Pirez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Ben Haber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ghaxaq F.C's Tyrone Palmer was substituted for Andre Bezzina. In the 68th minute of the match Ghaxaq F.C got a corner. High Ridge's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Andrew Zarb ran over to the corner to take the kick. Andrew Zarb made a great header on Ghaxaq F.C's corner, it was just that High Ridge's Ben Haber managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 73rd minute Steve Musu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haitz Mendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ghaxaq F.C's Calcedonio Cumbo was substituted for Taddeo Assenza. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Steve Musu during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to High Ridge getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Steve Musu hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raúl Gonzalez Pirez in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ben Haber prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Liam De Luca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raúl Gonzalez Pirez in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ben Haber saved High Ridge from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in High Ridge's zone, Liam De Luca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ben Haber came out of the goal and Liam De Luca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Liam De Luca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the game, Raúl Gonzalez Pirez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Ben Haber was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
