Per-Otto Peruzović hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Peter Failla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederick Barthet, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Jean Carl Diedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jean Carl Diedo in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter Failla saved Marsa F.C. from getting behind. Ben De Carlo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Leo Cesare skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ben De Carlo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 40 minutes, Per-Otto Peruzović managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marsa F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Per-Otto Peruzović was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Ben De Carlo lined in a short shot 2-1 behind a frustrated Leo Cesare. Ben De Carlo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jean Carl Diedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Peter Decelis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ben De Carlo in the 84th minute of play forced Swieqi Wanderers's goalkeeper Leo Cesare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Swieqi Wanderers's Leo Cesare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ben De Carlo in the 90th minute of play.
