In the 9th minute, Oliver Cassola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. OUT LIGHT's Alexander Mercieca quite brazenly broke a throw-in by David Cilia, made in the 12th minute of the game. If Alessio Vassallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th match minute, San Ġiljan Tigers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Grimaldi to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Tanti in the 32nd minute of play forced San Ġiljan Tigers's goalkeeper Raymond Sammut to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes in the game David Cilia did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Godfrey Palmier. The audience was convinced that Alessio Vassallo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raymond Sammut was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alessio Vassallo to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes OUT LIGHT got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Meilak. Ugo Barbaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 56th minute, Antoine Bardon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robbie Cassar was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Alexander Mercieca struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Raymond Sammut didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for OUT LIGHT. When Adriano Meilak fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored OUT LIGHT's protests and gave Adriano Meilak a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of San Ġiljan Tigers booed when OUT LIGHT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Meilak didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 64 played minutes San Ġiljan Tigers got a freekick which was hit by Kenneth Gusman . After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Antoine Bardon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alessio Vassallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raymond Sammut read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Robbie Cassar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ugo Barbaro in the 87th minute of the match. When Chris Tanti came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the OUT LIGHT fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris Tanti couldn't finish the play. Alessio Vassallo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The San Ġiljan Tigers fans cheered their team off the field, for while OUT LIGHT had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
