Edward Scalpello hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the game, Portuguesa Maltesa's Ryan Laus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sean Sammut made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Jake Drago could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Sean Sammut made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Portuguesa Maltesa's Ryan Laus slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sean Sammut. That made the score 3-0 after 44 minutes of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivan Stilon made a kick off. After 57 minutes of play, Valletta Vanguards FC's Cedric Camilleri made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Steve Grech Cumbo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 61 played minutes, Portuguesa Maltesa's Brandon Tedesco shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sean Sammut came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Portuguesa Maltesa reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Keith Apap during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd match minute, Valletta Vanguards FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keith Apap to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute Ryan Laus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Sammut saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 66 minutes into the game, Portuguesa Maltesa's Ryan Laus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivan Stilon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cedric Camilleri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adrian Cioffi hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Sean Sammut made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joshua Preca in the 89th minute of play. After 91 minutes of play, Portuguesa Maltesa's Joshua Preca made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sean Sammut was left in no man's land by his defense there! Portuguesa Maltesa's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
