Sean Sammut came out of the goal and Tyron Cassar Torreggiani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valletta Vanguards FC's Sean Sammut played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matt Manicolo in the 26th minute of play. Jake Gruppetta hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. When Matt Manicolo came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Marsascala Dynamos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matt Manicolo couldn't finish the play. 32 minutes into the match, Marsascala Dynamos's Matt Manicolo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sean Sammut narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 34th minute, Jake Gruppetta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tyron Cassar Torreggiani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marsascala Dynamos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anthony Mamo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ivan Stilon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marsascala Dynamos's supporters rose to their feet, but Matt Manicolo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 64th minute Tyron Cassar Torreggiani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Sammut saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th match minute, Marsascala Dynamos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tyron Cassar Torreggiani to maneuver through the defense. Cedric Camilleri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierre Bartolo having to interfere. Valletta Vanguards FC's Sean Sammut proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Valletta Vanguards FC from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Marsascala Dynamos defense, Ivan Stilon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pierre Bartolo. The Marsascala Dynamos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pierre Bartolo should have stopped the shot. 91 minutes into the match, Cedric Camilleri notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Marsascala Dynamos's Pierre Bartolo. Pierre Bartolo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marsascala Dynamos's Pierre Bartolo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Stilon in the 95th minute of play. 97 minutes into the game, Valletta Vanguards FC's Ivan Stilon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pierre Bartolo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. The Valletta Vanguards FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
