In the 8th minute of the match Jake Catania sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but George Bajada skillfully saved the ball. 10 minutes into the match, The Three-sided Coins's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Stilon came free, but George Bajada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valletta Vanguards FC's Albert Sapienza was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but George Bajada in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 21st minute Ivan Stilon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Bajada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, The Three-sided Coins's goal looked a bit too open when Cedric Camilleri came free, but George Bajada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd match minute, The Three-sided Coins was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacob Buontempo to maneuver through the defense. George Bajada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cedric Camilleri, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. George Bajada made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2.

Sean Sammut showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michele Falzon in the 53rd minute of the match. Ryan Cassar Naudi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Sammut having to interfere. George Bajada made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cedric Camilleri in the 60th minute. If Ryan Cassar Naudi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michele Falzon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. George Bajada was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Ivan Stilon capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ivan Stilon really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Ivan Stilon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without George Bajada having to make a save. 92 minutes into the match, The Three-sided Coins's goalkeeper George Bajada had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivan Stilon. With a little luck, The Three-sided Coins's George Bajada got control of the ball when Cedric Camilleri tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Ivan Stilon came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Valletta Vanguards FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Stilon couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Valletta Vanguards FC's zone, Michele Falzon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sean Sammut came out of the goal and Michele Falzon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Valletta Vanguards FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
