Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Philip Cassar Naudi kicked off to start the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Peter Debono managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mellieħa's supporters rose to their feet, but Peter Debono was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steve Stilon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 5th play minute Massimo Pace came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Steve Stilon. 1-0. In the 8th minute, Peter Debono hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryan Ciantar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Stilon having to interfere. The Mellieħa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 27 minutes into the game, Philip Cassar Naudi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Kurt Mangion was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mellieħa's goalkeeper Kurt Mangion, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stephen Tabone kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st minute of the match Ismael Chircop sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kurt Mangion skillfully saved the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Mellieħa's Peter Debono sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Steve Stilon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ryan Ciantar made a great header on Mellieħa's corner, it was just that Luqa's Steve Stilon managed to reach the ball for a save. Domenic Debono who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Steve Stilon when he managed to save the team from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ryan Ciantar to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52nd play minutes Peter Debono shot 5-1, a short shot which went by Steve Stilon and just under the crossbar into goal. Ismael Chircop's shot from long distance in the 57th minute was not bad at all, but Mellieħa's Kurt Mangion knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Steve Stilon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Debono in the 59th minute of the match. Luqa's Steve Stilon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter Debono in the 65th minute of play. Massimo Sultana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Kurt Mangion made a huge save. Steve Stilon came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Mellieħa's Ryan Ciantar. But to his dismay, Ryan Ciantar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. After having played for 76 minutes, Domenic Debono managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mellieħa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domenic Debono was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Steve Stilon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryan Ciantar in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Peter Debono ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Steve Stilon was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-1. If Ryan Ciantar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryan Ciantar in the 94th minute of play forced Luqa's goalkeeper Steve Stilon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mellieħa's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
