Sean Sammut stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacob Degiorgio's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Ben Griffin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Sean Sammut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sean Sammut took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacob Degiorgio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Matthew Zahra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Red Redemption's defense didn't have a chance, in the 41st minute, when Ivan Stilon scored to the left of an out of position Owen Bruno, making the score, 1-1. Sean Sammut showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacob Degiorgio in the 46th minute of the match. After 49 played minutes, Valletta Vanguards FC's Albert Sapienza shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Owen Bruno came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Valletta Vanguards FC reached it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivan Stilon to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Ben Griffin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Redemption's supporters rose to their feet, but Ben Griffin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sean Sammut breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Valletta Vanguards FC's goalkeeper Sean Sammut, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sean Sammut showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob Degiorgio, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After a rather tough play, Valletta Vanguards FC's Jake Gruppetta got a free kick in the 65th minute. If Ivan Stilon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacob Degiorgio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Sean Sammut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Jacob Degiorgio fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After having played for 89 minutes, Jake Gruppetta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valletta Vanguards FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jake Gruppetta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ivan Stilon came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Valletta Vanguards FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Stilon couldn't finish the play. Sean Sammut showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacob Degiorgio in the 97th minute of the match. Valletta Vanguards FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Red Redemption had controlled the match.
