The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 8th minute, Julian Bellizzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kurt Mangion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jake Terribile in the 8th minute of play. If Frederick Cefai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, Tyrone Tortell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Resurrection fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Ryan Ciantar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clayton Camilleri having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Mellieħa's Peter Debono got a free kick in the 30th minute. FC Resurrection's Clayton Camilleri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Massimo Pace in the 34th minute of play. After 38 minutes of play, Mellieħa's Massimo Pace made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Clayton Camilleri was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC Resurrection's Clayton Camilleri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ryan Ciantar in the 42nd minute of play. After 47 minutes of play, Mellieħa's Ryan Ciantar made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Clayton Camilleri was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Mellieħa were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stephen Satariano was the one to do the kick off. Massimo Pace kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Clayton Camilleri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Massimo Pace in the 59th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Massimo Pace dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Clayton Camilleri, 1-4. If Peter Debono had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clayton Camilleri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Debono in the 65th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Domenic Debono ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clayton Camilleri was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. Peter Debono kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. If Frederick Cefai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Domenic Debono could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Clayton Camilleri made a huge save. Peter Debono sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clayton Camilleri made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Massimo Pace sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peter Debono got free with Clayton Camilleri in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mellieħa played a much better game than FC Resurrection and deserved their victory. The FC Resurrection players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
