Spectators: 8369 (Terracing: 6395, Seating: 1961, VIP seats: 13) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ryan Laus kicked off to start the match. Ryan Laus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keith Casha having to interfere. Raphael Cacciottolo kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Joshua Preca charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joshua Preca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Portuguesa Maltesa's Joshua Preca got a free kick in the 9th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Tuna Chunks's Adam Azzopardi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Steve Grech Cumbo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Adam Azzopardi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adam Azzopardi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Steve Grech Cumbo having to make a save. Brandon Tedesco kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 34th minute Joshua Preca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keith Casha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Azzopardi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Grech Cumbo having to interfere. Ryan Laus kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. The supporters of Portuguesa Maltesa booed when Tuna Chunks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Gaffarena didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Tuna Chunks's zone, Joshua Preca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keith Casha came out of the goal and Joshua Preca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd match minute, Tuna Chunks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Gaffarena to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 45 minutes, Ryan Laus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portuguesa Maltesa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ryan Laus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute, Gilbert Alessandro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christopher Borg Xuereb to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Tuna Chunks's Gilbert Alessandro got a free kick in the 50th minute. Keith Casha came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Portuguesa Maltesa's Ryan Laus. But to his dismay, Ryan Laus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Patrick Tufignio charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrick Tufignio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 57 minutes of play Portuguesa Maltesa's Joshua Preca was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 58th match minute, Portuguesa Maltesa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joshua Preca to maneuver through the defense. Ryan Laus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Keith Casha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ryan Laus received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Keith Casha came out and tried to block the shot, but Ryan Laus slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 65th minute. Ryan Laus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 71 minutes into the match, Tuna Chunks's goalkeeper Keith Casha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jake Drago. Jake Drago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Portuguesa Maltesa's Carl Mamo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 79th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Keith Casha but with some difficulty. Adam Azzopardi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Steve Grech Cumbo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jake Drago's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Keith Casha firmly grabbed it by the left post. Portuguesa Maltesa's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
