Nathaniel Cassola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Mercieca having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Albert Town's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeo Farrugia came free, but Jason Gafà reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amadeo Farrugia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Jason Gafà tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Harry Galdes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carl Pulis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jason Gafà read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Nathaniel Cassola left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Albert Town fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 24th match minute, Nigret was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jake Apap to maneuver through the defense. Thomas Mercieca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nathaniel Cassola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Charlo Hamilton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nathaniel Cassola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute Charlo Hamilton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Mercieca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nathaniel Cassola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Mercieca having to interfere. Nathaniel Cassola struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Thomas Mercieca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Albert Town. If Amadeo Farrugia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Albert Town were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Charlo Hamilton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Harry Galdes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jason Gafà having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Amadeo Farrugia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nigret fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The referee gave Nigret a penalty, 67 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gabriel Cohen, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Albert Town's Jason Gafà. 2-1. 78 minutes into the match, Nathaniel Cassola notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Nigret's Thomas Mercieca. Thomas Mercieca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jason Gafà showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harry Galdes in the 93rd minute of the match. Amadeo Farrugia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jason Gafà having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
